Guangzhou-day4

We did a great lot of things together!

We went to a local restaurant for rice noodle roll in the morning. Headed to Chen Clan Ancestral Hall (陳家祠), a temple where the locals worship their ancestors, the architecture is spectacular and unique and there are exhibitions inside. Then we went to
Yong Qing Fang, a fairly modern shopping area. We stayed for a while and walked all the way to Shamian Island.

This road is actually a shopping street as well. We found it very unique that when the clerks are trying to get your attention and get you into the store, they clap very loudly. But it doesn\’t work for me, I hate noise and when I encounter it, I just want to leave as soon as possible.

I bought some fresh fruit on the way, that is, after you choose what you want, they will cut it into slices for you. It was a little more expensive than I expected, but it was really good, and as a fruit addict, I\’ve never fully enjoyed fruit in Hong Kong because they\’re really expensive. In this afternoon, I ate a lot of fruits and it really felt like heaven. This has made my day.

At Shamian Island, it is an area with the European architecture, and the weather was perfect today, with sunshine pouring over the buildings and green plants. I took amazing photos of the butterflies there, that\’s the another thing that has made my day.

\\After that, we went to a snack street and had some great little snacks. They are cheap and delicious. And our dinner there was very tasty too! Very classic and well-made Cantonese food. By then we had already walked about 20,000 steps.

After dinner, we went back to the hotel, rested for a while, and then started playing Monopoly. Ohhhh, it was super fun. The first game finished very quickly which took about an hour. And the second game, and here\’s the most amazing part, it lasted about two and a half hours! There were a lot of twists and coincidences! Which is super, super fun. We finished the game at 3am.

I\’d say that there were conflicting and stressful moments, the walk was too long for one of our friends, and we had a hard time finding dinner because the places we wanted to go were either too expensive or already had too many people waiting in line ahead of us.

It was a tough, crazy, super fun day. We did so many things from 10am to 3am.
